Northern Energy School Days Grant

Thank you to Erika Higgins and the folks associated with the Northern Energy School Days Grant for giving Gallatin Gateway School a check for over $1,100!  We are planning on using the money to help fund art materials at our school.  Be on the lookout next year for ways you participate and help increase the dollar amount allotted to the school.

Ice Cream Social

Thanks to everyone who came out for yesterday's ice cream social.  It was great to visit with so many of our community members about the school levies on next month's ballot.  I would also like to thank all of the district trustees for being there in support.

Coffee for Classrooms Results

As you know, the Community Food Coop sponsored Gallatin Gateway in March for their Coffee for Classrooms program.  Ten cents from every cup of coffee purchased at either Coop location during March was donated to the school.  Last month there were 5,721 cups of coffee were served, so the Coop presented the school with a check for $572.10!  Thanks so much to the Community Food Coop for supporting our school!

Second Chance Breakfast Launches at GGS!

Today we launched our Second Chance Breakfast program.  This program provides an additional opportunity for students in grades 3-8 to get breakfast a little later in the morning.  Thus providing an additional opportunity for students to receive the proper nutrition critical for optimal learning.  This project would not be a reality if it were not for the substantial efforts of our kitchen staff (thanks Bobbie Jo and Brooke), the GGS Whole Child Committee, Board Chair Donna Shockley, and several of our dedicated staff members (thank you Mrs. Yager, Ms. Clark, and Mrs. Fisher).  Thank you so much for all that you do to make our school a great place to work and learn!
