Get excited GGS because our ski day is right around the corner.  We will be conducting our annual ski day on February 8 and we couldn't be more excited!  We will be sending the paperwork home with your student tomorrow with further details on the event.

I would like to thank Scott and Carey Foster at Lone Mountain Sports for helping us support this event!  Their generosity greatly helps to make this event possible.

Good Luck Mr. Jones!

The past couple of days were a little bitter-sweet at GGS.  Unfortunately, we had to say our goodbyes to one of our bus drivers Mr. Jones.  I cannot thank him enough for his 10+ years of service to the district and wish him the best of luck in retirement, you will be missed!

Bozeman High School Rural Registration Night

Bozeman High School is hosting a special registration night for all of the rural students.  The event will occur on February 29 from 6:00 - 8:00 pm at Bozeman High School.  We will have more information on the event as the date approaches.  There are also some additional changes at BHS as far as scheduling is concerned.  A succinct list of those changes include:
- Powerschool will be building the schedule instead of department chairs.  This requires registration to be completed sooner and more accurately.
- Students and parents will be able to come to the high school to register during the rural registration night (Feb 29).
- Math teachers will need to sign the registration sheet for the appropriate math class.
- Parents will sign their approval for a zero period class.

Congratulations Mrs. Holt!

Today we had some very special visitors at Gallatin Gateway School.  Mr. Matt Elwell from KBZK and Ms. Shelley Beal from First Interstate Bank were here to award Mrs. Holt and the third grade a "One Class at a Time" award.  This award is given to teachers to help fund special projects that enhance educational objectives.  For more information on the "One Class at a Time" award, please check out the First Interstate Bank website.  Mrs. Holt is planning to use the $250 to purchase a classroom set of Playaways.  A Playaway is an all-in-one audiobook that can be plugged into speakers or used with headphones.  They are a great tool to help students with comprehension, fluency, and visualization.

Be sure to catch the KBZK news highlighting Mrs. Holt on January 18th at 5:30 pm and 10:00 pm.  I will be sure to link the actual broadcast after it is aired.  Thank you to KBZK and First Interstate Bank for your help and thank you Mrs. Holt for everything you do for your students.

Check out the KBZK broadcast of Mrs. Holt receiving the "One Class at a Time" award.

Welcome Back!

Happy New Year to everyone in the GGS family!  We are so excited to see everyone back from a wonderful holiday break!  We are looking forward to a strong finish to the second quarter, as well as, helping your child meet their academic goals.
