Blessing Bags

The first grade class has been busy collecting items for blessing bags to send to our veterans.  Today, with the help of Nick and KJ, the class was able to put together 76 blessing bags!  Way to go Gators!

Student Council Food Drive

The student council did an excellent job of collecting food during their recent food drive.  On December 8, they delivered 470 pounds of food to the Gallatin Valley Food Bank!  Great job Gators in helping others this holiday season!

Happy Holidays!

The Grinch is one of my all-time favorite books and I am so glad that I was able to get my picture taken with him today.  Certainly one of those things that can help get you into the holiday spirit!  Happy Holidays!

High School Expansion Information

During our November School Board Meeting, Bozeman School District #7 Superintendent Dr. Rob Watson, BSD7 Trustee Sandra Wilson, and BSD7 Trustee Douglas Fischer discuss the process for the new high school.  Don't worry if you weren't able to make it, there is plenty of information on the future school on the Bozeman Public School website.  There will also be a public meeting in the Bozeman High School South Cafeteria on December 8 at 6 and 7 pm.  This is a very exciting project and I appreciate the time Dr. Watson, Ms. Wilson, and Mr. Fisher spent with us to keep us informed.

Science Olympiad

On November 22, several of our middle school students participated in the annual Science Olympiad.  The event was held on the MSU campus and it was great to watch our students showcase their scientific ability.  Our Gators worked very hard on their projects and it was so great to hear their feedback!  The final results were:
Ecology - 31
Invasive Species - 35
Reach for the Stars - 21
Meteorology - 28
Optics - 33
Wind Power - 21
Crime Busters - 7
Food Science - 15
Scrambler - 44
Towers - 44
Experimental Design - 22
Write It Do It - 30

Holiday Activities

This weekend is shaping up to be filled with wonderful holiday activities.  For those of you who like to lace up your running shoes, check out the 2016 Santa 5K Run for Education.  This event is being put on by the Bozeman Schools Foundation, but your entry can benefit the Gallatin Gateway School Foundation!  Saturday is also the 7th Annual Cowboy Christmas Breakfast at the Gallatin Gateway Inn!  This event is your opportunity to visit the historic Gallatin Gateway Inn to visit more than 10 holiday vendors, go for a sleigh ride, get your picture taken with Santa, and have a wonderful breakfast!  Have a great weekend!

I had a visit today from Megan Cummings of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Gallatin County.  She is looking for caring adults from around the valley to help mentor kids.  They are looking for someone who is willing to commit 18 months to the program, is 18 or older, and pass a background check.  They are looking for "all kinds of bigs for all kinds of kids", so don't hesitate to sign up!  We have information at the office or you can contact Megan Cummins at (406) 587-1216 if you are interested!  Please feel free to pass this information onto anyone you know who may be interested or may be a great big!  Have a great day!
